My client school is a small Independent school who is looking for Graduate SEN/SEMH Teaching Assistant who wants to progress into clinical psychology educational, psychology or those who may want to become a fully qualified teacher.
This role would be ideal for a psychology graduate with a genuine interest in the social, emotional and mental health issues (SEMH). The school are looking for a graduate who has already gained some experience working with children who have real struggles with integrating with others and have been excluded from mainstream education?
*** Graduate SEN/SEMH Teaching Assistant position in North West London*** Long Term/Interim, Full-Time role in a specialist SEN/SEMH learning provision*** Fully supported small classes of no more than 6 pupils *** Excellent ongoing training offered in Lego therapy, Makaton & Safeguarding
Pupils are aged between 4-16. The aim of the school is to offer comprehensive support to enable learners to return to mainstream education. Pupils in this learning provision present with several complex social and behavioural issues relating to their emotional and mental health difficulties, so a caring and therapeutic approach is an integral aspect of the school's overall ethos.
This position would suit a compassionate Graduate SEN/SEMH Teaching Assistant who understands working closely with mental health and has gained some experience supporting children who have disengaged behaviour and who have a real understanding of attachment disorders. An essential aspect of your role as Graduate SEN/SEMH Teaching Assistant will include the ability to make and maintain supportive relationships and have a sensitive and empathetic nature.
