Start Date: January
Timetable: Full time
Contract: Until the end of the academic year
Location: City of London
Our client, an Independent Schools Sixth form College, is looking for a suitably qualified and experienced Economics teacher to enjoy their successful and thriving department.
An independent sixth form college located in Central London which caters for predominantly international students is looking to recruit a dynamic and engaging Economics teacher. There are roughly 300 students on roll and over 48 countries represented at the school. The college tutors mostly for A-levels but some subjects are offered as part of a new UFP (Undergraduate Foundation Programme) qualification. The college is part of a wider group of similar colleges around the UK and is well resourced, well-funded and received the highest award possible at inspection. Results and pastoral care are excellent and pupils go on to study at top universities around the world.
The Economics lecturer is required to deliver A-Level business studies in the school. The post will commence in January till the end of the academic year. EAL shouldn't be the focus of the teaching as most pupils have a very good grasp of English for academic purposes, however, an understanding of the international and global ethos of the school is essential.
Economics is a popular subject at the college so candidates can expect to make use of plentiful resources. The school like fast-paced lessons so teachers should be dynamic and engaging, and be confident and fluent with the teaching content. Shortlisted candidates will have a good degree in a relevant field of study. The school can consider career teachers and candidates with industry experience. The successful candidate though will have experience supporting young people in an education setting. Economics
Economics teachers with experience of A-level are welcome to apply, as are lecturers who have taught 1st-year undergraduate students.
The salary range is on the school's own generous scale and dependent on skillset, qualifications and experience.
